REVIEW! | MAC Caramel Sundae Eye Shadow x 4 {Archie's Girls Collection}

MAC Caramel Sundae Eye Shadow x 4 is part of the Archie's Girls Collection for Spring 2013. It's known as the Betty palette and consists of 4 shadows with varying finishes (2 frosts, a satin, and a matte). MAC describes the colors as:

Cheryl Chic Light coral pink (frost)
Dreammaker Pale frosty yellow (frost)
Caramel Sundae Mid-tone warm tan (satin)
Showstopper Dark, cool-toned brown (matte)

Of the 2 palettes offered in this collection, Caramel Sundae is the demure, quietly pretty girl-next-door, while the Spoiled Rich quad, AKA the Veronica palette, is the flashy gal who might crash a party and bring the house down with an impromptu karaoke performance of Beyonce's "Run The World (Girls)". Knowing the shades I typically gravitate toward, I went for the soft, classic colors of Caramel Sundae that I could easily integrate into a ton of daytime looks.  Also, I already have a purple palette that I love with shades very similar to Spoiled Rich.  :)

Cheryl Chic is a cool-toned frosted pink that definitely reminds me of a big scoop of strawberry ice cream.  The pigmentation is on the sheerer side, but it works great as a pop of pink shine.
Dreammaker is a satiny pale gold shade.  It's the least pigmented of the bunch, but it has it's place as a great highlighter either for the corners of your eyes or your brow bone.  It could be worn solo if you wanted a very diffused and subtle golden sheen.
Caramel Sundae is a warm tan with a hint of shine.  It has good color payoff and it's a super versatile brown that will look great on a wide range of skin tones.
Showstopper is a deep cool matte brown.  I've used it as a liner a few times and I'm happy to report that it worked well and didn't budge, even during rainy days.  It also worked great for me as a crease shadow shade.

I wore all four of these colors together a few days in a row and had the same results: a lovely, subtle look that didn't fade after 9 hours of wear (with a primer).  It's a really pretty look for daytime, and the colors compliment each other well.  This would be a great palette to chuck into your purse before you headed out of town, not only because the colors are easy like Sunday morning and get along like Mario and Luigi, but also because the palette is quite sturdy.  It's metal and plastic and very secure; you definitely wouldn't find a hot {Caramel Sundae} mess in your bag!

I had some reservations about purchasing this palette because my past experiences with MAC eye shadows haven't been super grande.  I've found many lacking in pigmentation and sometimes they've been rather dry and stiff, making for awkward application.  I am so glad I took a chance on these shadows because I really have to say - I love 'em!
