Mani Monday: Le Charm Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer

This nail polish rocks.  It's like MAC Tan Pigment, all molten coppery-champagne shimmering goodness, in polish form!
My mom and I were cruising the aisles of Sephora this weekend and happened upon the new display for Marc Jacobs Beauty.  Everything is simplistically designed with clear glass and shiny black plastic "belted" with silver bands.  It's quite striking.

I was especially drawn to the nail polishes.  I love the bottle design!  They're slightly shorter than Essie bottles and about the same height as butter London's.  They're smooth and rounded, like river pebbles, and fit square in the palm of your hand.  Like polishes from butter London, Dior, and Chanel, the cap pops off to reveal a smaller brush handle.
My mom treated me to a polish (awww!  I know!  She's awesome!) and I selected Le Charm because it was so pretty and unlike anything else in my polish collection.  Le Charm is described as a rosy copper metallic shimmer, and that is spot-on.  This is typically the kind of eyeshadow color I like to wear.  On the nail, this color looks like thousands of gold and copper pigments layered on top of each other.
I get full coverage in one coat - yes, ONE! - and there are no brush strokes in sight!  The brush itself is similar to OPI in that it's thick but not flat and isn't overly long.  Application is a cinch!
All of the Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquers are supposed to be superior polish with the shine of 30 coats of lacquer.  I think it's harder to judge a glossy shine on a metallic polish, but it definitely gleams and is perfectly smooth with or without a top coat.  I found Le Charm dried extremely fast which always adds extra points in my mind!
I am extremely impressed with this polish and will definitely be checking out some of the others in the 24 color collection.

My Rating: A+

Cost: $18.00 USD

Where to Buy: Sephora

Have you tried anything from the new Marc Jacobs Beauty collection?  Are there any Fall collections that you're particularly pumped about?

I'm so ready for Fall!!!  Fall here in Atlanta is typically fleeting (usually just a few weeks), but it's such sweet relief after sweating for three months from 90+ degree (35 celsius average) temperatures with 100% humidity.  Sometimes the air is so heavy with humidity you can feel a film forming on your skin within a minute or two of being outside.  The air is so thick it's practically drinkable.  I can't wait for 62 degrees and pumpkin-flavored coffee drinks!

  1. I am SO excited about the Marc Jacobs line in general!!! I'm going probably Tuesday, so I can get the 4x points (VIB ROUGE HOLLAAA!). That polish is super pretty and for a finish like that... to not see a ton of brush strokes? Amazing!

  2. Hey Kristen, what an amazing shade! The finish looks foiled. I don't think I've seen many like that! I'm actually not too sure if Marc Jacobs is going to be available here. I'll need to do a little digging! Saw this lipstick on Temptalia that I adore!

  4. This reminds me a lot of Orly Rage - which I love! I haven't tried anything from the collection because I've been waiting to see swatches and things so I don't spend a ton of money! This is very pretty though!

  5. That is so cute! The bottle & everything! The color is nice too, but I don't think I'd be able to indulge in a $18 bottle of nail polish yet D:

  6. Oh, wow!! I seriously LOVE that color!! But I need an OPI or Essie dupe since I can't paint my own nails AT ALL. And spending $18 for polish and then paying for a mani, is probs not the best option. (PS, don't you like how I'm SO down with the lingo!?

  7. LOL! Yes! You are adorable! @Macy pointed out a great comparison: Orly Rage (which is sold in drugstores and on Amazon for about $5 bucks! Here's a link to Macy's swatch/review of Orly Rage: http://macyxmakeup.blogspot.com/2013/04/orly-rage-review-swatch-photos.html Looks like a pretty good dupe! :)

  10. I know! I love the bottle design! If everything in his collection performs as well as this polish, he's going to have a long career in beauty!

  11. I hope it does get there! Most of the reviews for his color products I've seen thus far have been positive so hopefully he'll go international! Doesn't Temptalia have the BEST swatches?! She's definitely persuaded me to buy so many things over the years from her photography!

  12. LOL @ the VIB Rouge HOLLAAA! You are hilairs! I have a feeling you're going to be returning home with several MJ picks...the eyeshadow palettes were particularly alluring! I was super impressed by the lack of brush strokes too! That's usually one of the reasons why I avoid metallic finishes! YAY!

  13. Awesome!!! Totally going to try it! PS, I've been wearing Mod About You! So fun!

  14. Essie Penny Talk is similar but doesn't have the micropigments so it's more like a straight up metallic copper polish. STRAIGHT UP now tell me - TELL ME! Sorry, Paula Abdul interlude.

  21. Hard to say without seeing it in person but it sorta reminds me of Orly's RAGE.

  22. It does look similar but this one has larger gold "chunks", if you will! Nothing sounds more sophisticated than chunks! ;)
