EMPTIES! #2 | Winter 2013 Edition

I have been saving up empties since November 2013, so there's quite a few of them this time!  Grab a drink, and light snack if you're so inclined, and let's get started! ;)

HAIR //
1. WEN Cleansing Conditioner in Sweet Almond Mint: For me, there's no other hair product that leaves my hair feeling softer or silkier than WEN.  I use it every few days as a treatment so the bottle goes a lot farther than it would if I used it daily.  It's too conditioning for me to use every single day with my fine, oily hair, but as a treatment?  It's divine.  Will I repurchase? Yes, but I'm going to try a different variety as I wasn't a huge fan of the mint.
2. Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle: This is a product I can't rave about enough!  It deeply conditions the ends of my hair without weighing it down and this stuff smells fantastic.  Will I repurchase? Already have!
3. Herbal Essences Honey I'm Strong Shampoo: So...you see there's two empty bottles of this because I loved it, repurchased, and used up the second bottle.  This is my favorite shampoo.  Will I repurchase?  Yes!

FACE //
4. Bioderma Sebium H20 Solution Micellaire: This was my first ever Bioderma/micelle water experience, and I'm happy to report it was a good one!  I was really impressed by this product's ability to remove my makeup and I felt like my skin was extra clean after following this with a cleanser.  Will I repurchase? Yes, but not right away.  I'm playing the field currently with micelle solutions but this one is still top of the pops!
5. Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser: Hmm.  When I first used this, I loved it.  The only negative thing I could say about it was the fragrance was awful when it got in your mouth.  I then switched to a creamy cleanser.  When that ran out, I returned to this and I found it a bit more drying the second time.  And the fragrance still put me off but not as much as it originally had.  So right now?  Will I repurchase?  No.  I'm happier with my current cleanser, Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser.
6. MAC Mineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator: I really enjoy this scrub!  It's very gentle, and the dark gray ash can be a bit messy if you're not using it in the shower.  The smell will probably be a "some love it, some loathe it" situation because it's definitely different.  I like it, but originally it reminded me of the "tonics" I'd whip up from random leaves and berries near the creek by my house when I was little; very earthy.  My fiance Jason used it once to remove tree sap from his hands after hoisting the Christmas pine up the stairs to our apartment and he LURVED the smell.  I gave him a tube for Christmas!  Will I repurchase? Not immediately.  I've been needing a more intense scrub lately.

BODY //
7. Nivea Creme: This was a little tin of perfection over the winter.  I kept it in my purse and used it whenever and where ever I needed hydration.  The sleek tub fits into the smallest purse or makeup bag, and the balm-like silky creme moisturizes with a fierceness.  Will I repurchase? Yes.
8. LUSH Sympathy For the Skin Hand & Body Lotion: This was a great winter hydrator and it had a decidedly delicious gourmand scent.  Will I repurchase? Yes, but probably not until Fall/Winter when I need to kick up the hydration factor to avoid chapped skin.
9. Ocean Salt Face & Body Scrub: Ok, this scrub is INTERESTING.  It smells super fresh, literally like you just got back-handed by the ocean itself!  It's got an almost whipped consistency and plenty of grit for your buck.  It's a non-oily scrub that left my skin feeling very soft.  Will I repurchase? Yes.

MAKEUP //
10. Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation in Buff 4C: This is a definite favorite foundation of mine and one I've recommended to friends and family (Hi Mom and Maggie!).  It definitely gives your skin that "lit from within" look without being overtly shimmery.  Even my oily skin loved this formula!  I'd say this one is medium coverage but can be used sparingly if a sheerer tint is what you desire.  Will I repurchase? I would if I didn't have so many other foundation to use up!  If I manage to get through them all, I would definitely buy this one again.
11. MAC Pro Longwear SPF10 Foundation in NW20: This was a foundation I started using and liked, then moved on to another foundation, rediscovered it, and then couldn't STOP using it.  It's more full to medium coverage with a matte finish that lasts BEAUTIFULLY on my oily skin.  I recommended this one to another one of my friends who also has oily skin and she's happy with it as well.  I think if you're looking for a moderate to full coverage option without the feel of full coverage, this is a great choice!  Will I repurchase? Same as above - definitely will buy it again once I work through my current foundation stash!

That's all for this edition of Empties!  What was the last product you finished?  Would you repurchase it?  Happy Thursday! :D

  2. I have largely stuck to Bioderma Sensibio, but I recently got a bottle of their micellar water for dehydrated skin (blue cap) and I'll be giving it a go soon! Glad to hear you're liking this version, too! I'm running out of my bottle of EL ANR, and I already bought a new one! Can't live without that thing :)

  3. I miss Bioderma :( But I'm also going to try some other options (like, something I can actually get in a store maybe?) I just ran out of my Guerlain Les Violettes pressed powder, I'm so so sad! I have a few other powders to work through and then I'm going straight back to Guerlain, probably for life!

  4. I never thought the Aussie was any different from a regular conditioner - I donated it to my sister's gym bag! But I'm with you on Nivea - it gets me through winter. And sad news, but I think the MAC volcanic ash stuff are discontinued? Maybe you can still get them from warehouse sales. AND I WANT TO BE BACKHANDED BY THE OCEAN PLEASE.

  6. Thanks, Elle! :) And thanks for the Jergens Body BB Cream rec! It's so silky and definitely helps make my winter white legs look better!

  7. Beauty junkies are awesome - we can communicate in "EL ANR" and know exactly what the other person's talking about, lol! It's kind of hard to get Bioderma here but I've noticed it's hard to get ANY micellar waters here. I think they are the new "BB cream" and once they get more popular, they'll be everywhere. I saw that Avene has one and I'm thinking about trying theirs next as I've always had great experiences with Avene products.

  8. Exactly! Bioderma is a little tough to come by here! I've been noticing more and more brands are releasing micellar waters so it should be easier to get our American mitts on some of them, lol! I'm using a Clarins one right now that smells lightly of peaches....mmmm. :) I too have hit pan on my Guerlain pressed powder but I still have a ways to go before I am completely out. That compact is SO perfect for carrying in the purse - it's light and tiny and the powder inside is wunderbar. I can see why it's a super fave! Good luck working through your other powders in the meantime! #projectpan ;)

  9. For me, Aussie is amazeballs. I can't even use a regular conditioner because I'll never get a comb through it. I'm cutting my hair post-wedding and I'm REALLLLLY ready to lob off some locks and not fight with a brush any more! I love your shorter 'do! Thanks for the head's up about the MAC Volcanic Ash! Boo! And yes, being backhanded by the ocean is quite a lovely experience, lol!

  10. Ha ha! I did feel pretty pleased with myself for that! I think I might be able to finish my latest foundation love, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, over the summer. That stuff is quickly reaching HG status! <3

  11. Guess who's back.. Back again. Stephie's back.. Tell a friend. Hope you know Eminem songs well enough to catch that Shady reference. If not, whatever, but I'M BACK from TAX SEASON which means I can read your blog again and comment on your posts and I can even GET EXCITED FOR YOUR WEDDING which is in like what, 10 DAYS tomorrow? This was a great post. I actually LOVE the NIVEA creme but that was the only thing I'd tried that you've emptied. I've been so curious about Wen, so I'm glad to find that here as one of your favorites. I'm thinking I'd have to use it as a treatment too because my hair is also fine and I feel the urge to wash it every day... And we all know I'm researching MAC. Hoping I'll get to the Macy's MAC now that I'm not working an additional 40 hours. YIKES. So excited to be back and reading Glambunctious.

PS; Finally got to Sephora this past weekend and bought my Stephanie Buxom!! Haha!

Ok, until later BBFF. MUCH LOVE,
    -Stephanie Eva

  12. I rarely hit pan on ANYTHING.. But recently my Guerlain Precious Lights Rejuvenating Illuminating Pen ran out and I love it so much!! I use it to highlight my undereye area. I think it's similar to the YSL Touche Eclat Pen so I might give that a whirl!

  13. Oh I've been enjoying the Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle as well! Although I'm not really a big fan of anything with coconut scent (weeeeeeeeeeird!)

And my gosh you finished TWO bottles of foundation?!!! HOW?!! I would be SO happy to see mine down to half a bottle! I'd cry (out of joy) if I ever finish one. LOL!

  14. Coconut in general is one of those things people either love or hate! It's so weird! 3 Minute Miracle is le bomb. I knew you'd be proud of my 2 foundation empties! I was pretty pleased with myself, not gonna lie. LOL! I just had 2 that were less than half full and decided to wear one every day until I finished it. Then I started in on the next one! It surprisingly didn't take that long once I stopped rotating between 46 foundations! ;)

  15. Isn't it always so hard to decide whether to repurchase something you really liked or branch out and try something new?! I struggle with that a lot. I'd love to know what you ended up doing! I've never tried either of those products but I've always heard extremely good things!

  16. YAS! The first person ever to leave a Slim shady reference on my blog!! I LOVES! Congrats on being done with tax season!!! WOOOOHOOOOO! Freedom! i'm so glad you're back as I've definitely missed you here and on your blog! Wen would totes be a dream treatment for your locks since you are an everyday washer like myself. It really does make my hair softer than anything else EVA.

My Sephora didn't carry the 100 Buxom glosses. My face: (-_-) I'm glad you got yours! How're ya diggin' it?

Much lurves, BBBF! <3 Welcome back! And dankjewel! <--I dutched ya! ;)

  17. I'm in the same situation with the Teint Miracle! I love it, but have something like 8 other foundations to use up. It is gorgeous though.

  18. I'm sold on Wen, I hear QVC has some amazing deals. LOL I'm a grandma.
Update on the Buxom, LOVING it. I love the minty feeling (like sophisticated Burts Bees) and I appreciate that it doesn't dry my lips out.

That dutch made me so excit33333d! Goed zo! (good job) ..... Doeeeeei!!! (a cute way of saying bye!) en tot struks (until later).

    Much Love,
