REVIEW! | I've got {nearly} nothing but love for the Lumene Time Freeze CC Cream

HEY YOU GUYYYYS!  If you follow me on Instagram, you've seen this product over and over again.  Today I'm finally reviewing one of my favorite products of the YEAR, Lumene Time Freeze Anti-Age Color Correcting Cream.  If I could give the world a hammer cc cream, this would be the one!
Packaged in a squeeze tube, the Lumene Time Freeze CC Cream gives beautiful near-full coverage.  As you probably know by now from numerous mentions, I'm combination-oily.  This cream sets to a semi-matte finish and stays put from sunup to sundown.
From the Lumene site: "Representing the latest technology, this unique 6-in-1 foundation is light and yet it provides good coverage. It spreads evenly, following all contours of your skin and smoothing out uneven skin color and redness. One product has several features, a handy solution for consumers who like a product that is easy, quick and comfortable to use. The end result is a semi-matte, flawless and even-looking skin. Your skin will feel fresh and light, and you can trust that your makeup will stay on all day. CC Cream's 6-in-1 properties: Foundation, Concealer, Primer, Illuminator, Long-lasting, Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 20."
There's a reason every review of this product at the Lumene site is five stars.  It's just THAT good.  I was urged to try this CC cream by my friend Katie who also has combination skin and lives in the humid jungle portion of the U.S. known as "Florida".  She loved it because it was impossible to apply unevenly and took all of sixty seconds to smooth on.  She also raved about it's lasting power.  I figured if it could stand up to Florida's sun and humidity, it could certainly work for me here in "Hotlanta."  And it certainly does!  At the end of the day, it still looks freshly applied; no caking, sliding, or oiliness.

In the words of Tracy, it's "swatchy time!"  Gird your loins!

Prepare for ze split screens!
Also, what a treat, you guys!  I happen to have several angry red blemishes so you can really see the difference the Lumene makes.

My sole beef with this product is the color range.  It only comes in 2 shades: Light and Medium.  I wear medium.  I have more color now than I would in, say, February, but I'm not exactly getting confused with Pharrell Williams.  Though I wish I was because have you seen his skin??  GORGEOUSNESS.
Anywho, I just wish they offered a Medium-Deep and Deep option at least because there are so many people who aren't going to fall into the Light or Medium options.  Lumene, if you're reading this, you're missing out on a huge opportunity to appeal to a much broader market around the world.  Please offer more shades!
Shade range aside, this is hands-down the best CC cream I've ever used, and one of the best foundations I've ever used.  If you typically have trouble finding foundation shades that are light enough for your skin, take a look at this CC cream.

  1. That's awesome to find a CC cream that actually gives coverage! I myself have never tried a CC cream as I need much more coverage than most CC creams out there will give. Thank you for sharing this! It's really a shame that they offer such a limited range. I never know what companies are thinking when they offer just a few shades!

  2. WOWZA!!!! Ok, going to be stocking up on this baby when we drive Marky to California for sure!! Thanks for the review! Your skin looks awesome!!
And Pharrell has to be a vampire. I mean the man DOES NOT AGE.

  3. Oooh Pharrell... mmmmmm.
I think this CC cream is perfect on you. Simply gorgeous! Now I have to find it in Canada.

  4. Right?! I had never bought one before for this same reason! I just figured there was nothing out there with the amount of coverage I was seeking! I really only bought this because a friend personally raved about it to me and told me "GET IT". I really hope they expand their color range b/c the medium is almost too light for me, and I'm not exactly a bronzed goddess!

  5. YAY! I think you will lurvies! The light might even be light enough for Marky! And ditto on the Pharrell - he still looks EXACTLY the same as he did during the Hella Good/Hollaback Girl years! I'd like to know what CC cream he's using, lol! ;)

  6. Re: Pharrell - YES. Yes ma'am. 'Nuf said.
I hope you can find it in Canada! I don't know how internationally awesome Amazon.ca is, but Amazon.com is where I always find all of the thangs from other countries I can't buy here? If not, ahem, I do know someone in the US who'd be willing to send you some! ;)

  7. It really does sound amazing, Kristen! May I ask if you're still around NW20? I'm a little darker than NC30 and was wondering if medium would work for me? What do you think? Thanks! :)

  8. I'm now NW25. From everything I've seen online re: swatches, NW25 is actually a tiny bit deeper than NC30. That and looking at your About Me picture on your lovely blog, I think you could totally wear the Medium shade of this, Carolyn! :)

  9. Gotta love a good Pharrell reference in a beauty post ;)

Of course, I'm too pale for this (whomp whomp) so I'll stick to the It Cosmetics CC cream [not nearly as budget friendly... what are ya gonna do]

  12. LOL Pharrell :-)
I can definitely see why you love this! It's the first time I hear of this brand, and it's unfortunately not available here. It's such a HAPPY thing to find a base that actually works so well!!

  13. Whoaaaaa K you lookin' fine in them pictures! That CC cream looks gorgeous on your face. It's like it was made for you, haha! Really, the coverage looks fantastic. But not cakey or even remotely foundation-like.... HAHA at the "humid jungle portion of America".. I have to agree, that's Florida!
You've been like the BBCC cream master on the blog lately, love it. It really helps when there are great reviews of products to read before buying... And since I'm so timid with BB/CC creams, it's really been helpful!

I will second the shade-range problem. I think that if just ONE good CC comes out in a lighter shade, the company will expand their market. I can't be the only fair-francesca out there wanting to buy a dang CC for summer!

    MUCH LOVE,
    -BBFF

  14. LOL Pharrell! Haha. The best CC cream? Well, Kristen! I might just have to check this one out! I wonder if Medium would match me, though. I'm pretty tan right now. I should go to Ulta and have a swatch. :)

  15. Love the split screen with pharrell! The arm swatch is very impressive actually!

  16. The results look great! I've heard of this brand before but I'm not exactly sure where to get it x

  17. looks great on you! i'm a dry dry dry girl, so i'll skip this, but now i have a new recc for my oily-combo friends!

  18. Ha ha!! Thanks, Lauren! :D
Dang it, I'm sorry you're too pale for this! I've heard great things about the It Cosmetics CC cream and I'm glad they have a shade that fits you!
Great to hear from you! :)

  19. You definitely should, Julie! It's pretty amazing and works great in humidity!

  20. It's always interesting to see where brands are offered; Lumene is out of Finland so I'm kind of surprised they're not around near you. And yes! +10 on the HAPPY reference, lol!

  21. Ha! Thank you, SE! Yes, this CC cream is definitely not cakey at all. And thank you - I've hoped my crazy base obsession is helping someone! I do love a great base, it just makes everything else better. You need not be fearful of BB/CC creams, though - just find a brand that pale people rave about and you should be good to go, especially since you have dry skin. Lauren (a few comments below!) is a "fair-francesca" (LOL! Love that) and she said It Cosmetics' CC Cream is perfect for her, so maybe that's an option? I know most of the drugstore BB/CC creams are typically too dark for truly porcelain peeps like yourself!
Happy hunting! :) Oh and another blogger who is very fair is Phyrra - she's definitely got base recommendations that could work well for you!
Much love and margherita pizzas! <3

  22. DEF swatch it if you can since you're more tan than usual! Do you know your MAC or NARS foundation match? I'm NW25 in MAC and Santa Fe in NARS Radiant Cream Foundation, in case that's of any help! The Lumene CC Cream has such a beautiful texture, too. Let me know if you swatch it!

  23. HA HA HAAAA! Cracking up at the Pharrell comment! You're the best, Liz!!

  24. LOL! Thanks, Gaelle! I had no idea one could get that kind of coverage from a BB or CC Cream. I've heard the Lumene BB Cream is awesome, too!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thanks, Coco! <3 Are you in the US? I know you're from PR, but I can't remember if you still live there?!

  26. Thanks, Elle! Ah, dry skin! I would seriously not know what to do with myself if I didn't have to deal with blotting sheets, powder touch-ups, and sometimes multiple face washes in the evenings! Sorry, got sidetracked there! Anywho, this CC cream is awesome and is labeled for "all skin types", so you should still give it a whirl sometime if you're lacking in the CC dept! :) Happy Monday!

  27. Wow looks like you've found yourself a winner!!:) Too bad about the limited shade range :s Love the lip combo youve got going on there too!

  28. Nice find, this really sounds awesome! And it LOOKS awesome too.

  29. Thanks, Melissa! It really gives amazing coverage and a beautiful finish. It looks like an expensive foundation but is truly a bargain! :)

  30. Thanks, Dee! I know, if they released a wider shade range, this product would fly off the shelves! And thank you - I love coming up with fun lip combinations!

  31. Expensive looking but cheap as hell, that's the best combo!

  32. This sounds awesome, Kristen! I'm super convinced by its powers~ It looks amazing on and almost looks invisible - like it's just your skin glowing!

  33. Hi Kristen!
It sounds like a great product for hot weather. Does it oxidize (gets darker) at the end of the day? It's the biggest pet peeve of mine when my jaw line turns orangy. Surprisingly, a lot of high end products do that. I like the idea of BB and CC creams, especially in the summer, but found a decent one only recently (Missha BB cream). It might be a bit dark for you, though, because it matches my skin well and comes in one color (at least on the website).

  34. Thanks boo boo! It's pretty lovely stuff, especially for the extra lovely price! I hope to hit pan on it - in 2 years. LOL!

  35. Hi Tanya! Gosh, I apologize - i don't know why I'm only now just seeing your comment and the one below from Shari! I feel so bad! This lovely Lumene CC Cream does not oxidize and I'm pretty oily (AND it's extra humid here) so that's saying something. I get so frustrated when a base product oxidizes! I will have to check out that Misha BB Cream! Thank you for mentioning it! :)
