FIVE FAVE! | Fall Shadows

I just checked the extended forecast and much to my chagrin, the temps are steady rocking in the high 80's for the foreseeable future.  This map made me laugh.  Mmm...warm and humid.
Totes not jibing with my mental extended forecast, which calls for boots, chunky knits, and pumpkins bouncing  about jovially.  The weather's refusal to comply with my wishes has failed to stop my autumnal dreams.  Today I'm sharing my Five Fave Fall shadows!  Instead of sharing five specific shadows, I decided to pick five favorite colors and share several shadows within that general range.  Two tickets to the Swatchatorium, please!

FIVE FAVE! | Fall Shadows

COPPER
bareMinerals Firefly, MAC Copper Sparkle, NARS California, Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips All-in-1 Custom Nude Palette for Face & Eyes in Warm Nude (bottom row of shadows)

CRANBERRY
Anastasia Beverly Hills Sapphire, Clinique Black Honey, MAC Cranberry, Maybelline Pomegranate Punk, Urban Decay Last Call

OLIVE
(sorry about the beige rectangle - I mislabeled that swatch originally!)
bareMinerals Chicory, MAC Sumptuous Olive, Tarina Tarantino Dandy Lion

PEWTER
bareMinerals Celestine, Lancome All That Glistens, LORAC Pewter, MAC Satin Taupe, Wet N Wild Nutty

SPARKLE BARK! (otherwise known as SASSY BROWN)
Burberry Midnight Brown, bareMinerals Pussycat, Maybelline Bad to the Bronze, MAC Groundwork

Even though I've been relegated to sipping my PSL in flip flops whilst enthusiastically reapplying anti-perspirant, my love for all things Autumn abounds!  What shadows get you pumped for Fall?

  1. Bare Minerals Chicory! Where have you BEEN my lovely! ;)
Yeah I feel for you people that don't get fall. Here in So-Cal it's been 33-37C which is I have NO idea except it's friggin WAY too hot for September. Looking forward to going home and the nice, COOL weather that's apparently starting next week. WAHOO.

  2. Nice picks! I love autumnal colours in general even though I live in a tropical country. I love olive greens and reddish browns / burgundy :-)

  5. Oooo, these are pretty! I want to do a cranberry smoky eye look soon. And most of the Charlotte Tilbury signature looks are on my list for fall. High 80s? That's it? :P We've been rocking the it's-too-hot-for-recess temps. PSL in flip flops it is!

  6. Hahahaha well it's definitely feeling like autumn here already! I'm seizing every moment I can still spend in the sun, because it won't be long before the chill settles in! You have a GREAT collection here! I can't really do cranberry and copper, but olive, pewter, and brown are totally my thing, too :)

  7. AHH SPARKLE BARK! I love you so much!!!

  8. sassy browns yes! I want Midnight Brown! I often wish I lived in warmer climes but I like the season changes.

  9. Sassy browns! Check check! They are classic. LOL - I often wish I lived in cooler climates specifically because the idea of 4 distinct seasons sounds amazing!

  12. I'd love to see your cranberry smoky eye! And whoa - too hot for recess is SERIOUS! It was 94 here yesterday. Totes not "sweater weather" just yet, lol!!

  13. Ha ha! You are too adorable! Thank you, Melissa! :)

  15. Thanks, Lilz! I love a burgundy eye on you. I kind of feel like you were made for a smoky burgundy with black liner!

  16. LOL! Re: Chicory, that's what I said when I ran across it in my stash! I used to have a whole drawer of their loose eye colors and they were the only shadows I wore. It's been nice rediscovering them lately and remembering why I was so enamored with them years ago! They have great dimension, kind of like MAC pigments.
LOL - thank you, man! I think it's fun that you're getting a taste of the no fall lifestyle - and how weird it is! DANG - 37C is HOT!! I'm glad you get to return home to coolness soon! Yippees! I think fall here is like summer in the north - people look forward to it's fleeting loveliness all year!

  17. good god they are ALL so gorgeous. MAC Copper pigment is soo pretty. I was at the MAC store just yesterday and contemplated buying a pigment but the jar is SO huge...I decided Ill never get through it and bought Plum foolery instead lol. bare Minerals pussy cat is such a different kinda brown. Very nice! Love all the picks here though Kristen!

  18. Plum Foolery is a fall classic! Good choice! I agree, MAC pigments are HUGE!! It's almost like you could go in one one tube and divide it amongst with 5 girlfriends and everyone would still have more than enough. The best time to get their pigments is around the holidays when they do sets of mini pigments for a steal of a price! bareMinerals really has the right idea of what a good size is for eyeshadow pigment. If they dropped their prices from $14 to about $7-$8 bucks, they would be perfect! Copper Sparkle is RIDICULOUS! It's like molten metal. Such a beauty!

  19. MAC Sumptuous Olive, Lorac Pewter, and Blueberry Midnight Brown are some of my all-time favorites!!!! They are just easy to wear and seem to pair well with just about anything! Great texture and color payoff, too!!!

    Excellent picks, Kristen!

  20. YOU ARE KILLING THE GAME with the BLOG POSTS DARLIN'!!! Souped. So happy to see a "Glambunctious" post in my Bloglovin "Favorites" folder!!! :D

I like that you separated everything into a color group and shared favorites from there. So fun and who doesn't love a trip to the Swatchatorium!?
I would love to do this. I think I will, thank you for greatest inspirations. I have such a long blog post queue but Spencario needed to borrow my camera and SD Cards to film a wedding so I've been MIA and it's killing me because I had just finally gotten my blogging MoJo back. Oh well, I'll find it again.

LURVE AND MACROBOWLS (just ate my din. SO GOOD. Veggies and nom nom)

  21. Scrumptious! Love them all, but NARS California is calling my name for whatever reason. (HUSH!) ALL eye shadows get me pumped in autumn. I shun them terribly all summer long and then my love for all things palettey comes rushing back with the first cool breeze. Love this post!

    ReplyDelete
  22. ME TOO!! I had a drawer full of their stuff too and only used them as well! I loved them. I need to look at the ones I still have-maybe I gots Chicory hiding too.

    ReplyDelete
  23. OMG! We a kindred B.E. spirits!! Didn't you lust after those lazy susan style tables stacked with every color and finish imaginable?! I wanted one so bad but lacked the general smarts to execute getting it out of the store without being seen, lolol!! I hope you have Chicory! That is such a Tracy color! If not, let me know, b/c I happen to know someone with a monkey load of it who's willing to share! ;)

  24. Thank you, Jaa! I think those shadows are total staples! If I could create my own palette, they would ALL be in it. I bet someone will come up with a way, in the future, where you send them 6 or 8 shadows that you love, and they will re-press them into a palette! Hey, maybe we should think of how to do this and make millions of bucks! :D

  25. That MACROBOWL you posted earlier looked utterly delightful!! Are you guys on a macrobiotics kick? I'd love to know more!
Thank you for your encouragement about my blog post game killin'! I have just felt very inspired lately and have been learning new tricks for taking better photos and I'm just really having FUN! I'm so pumped because I thought I needed a new camera and like pssssshhh who has time/money for THAT, but after playing with some settings and using some different parts of Fotor (FREE photo editing site that's AMAZE), I think my camera will be just fine! I hope Spencerario Jackson is done borrowing your camera and SD cards soon b/c what the world clearly needs is MORE Stephanie Eva / Purple Ted! Obvs!
    Mucho love boats!

  26. Ooh scrumptious! I just used that word yesterday in reference to Sunny's cat for the first time in years. And then you drop it here? You deserve an ESP award! :) I agree, ain't nobody got time for 5-step eye looks in the summer, but in the Fall??? We got NOTHING but time for that! That's why we "Fall back" with Daylight Savings Time. It's for better eyeshadow look production. Has nothing to do with farming. <3 Much loves to my Liz bear!

  27. Hahaha, well, Capt. Kringle, I used to be totally Macrobiotic, when it wasn't a "thang" as it seems to be becoming (that's a good thing, it's spreading it's little wings and making the world happy). Maybe I'll write a "macrobiotics" post today and post when I get a picture or two from MY CAMERA. Ugh. I'm so happy you're having fun, it 100% shows and I'm perfectly ok with all these fantastisch posts! Gotta check out Fotor! If I were not so "gotta have to same photo layout in every blog post" anal about things I would probably continue on with my phone because those can be bomb pictures all the same. Alas, I started taking pictures with my camera and being the weird person I am, I cannot simply "switch". It's a problem, because I totally could "switch". What.. ok.
