TAG! | The Autumn Tag

To celebrate the official First Day of Fall (insert gleeful screams and Arsenio Hall fist twirls), I thought I'd do The Autumn Tag!  Thanks to my Edmontonian sweet babaloo Tracy from Beauty Reflections for tagging me!  I tag anyone who's as excited as I am about fall's arrival! :)

We're talking coffees.  What's your favorite seasonal drink from Starbucks or your favorite coffee shop?
Most def the classic PSL.  Although my true love will always be the Gingerbread and Eggnog lattes from their holiday offerings!  MMMMMmmmmmmm.
The temperature the day I got my first PSL this year!
Accessories: What do you opt for, scarves, boots, or gloves?
It's still in the 80's here in Atlanta during the day, so gloves are not really fall staples.  Boots and scarves, though?  I love them!  I own a ridiculous amount of scarves.  I think they're the easiest way to dress up a plain shirt and pants.  My two favorite places to buy scarves are Target and Forever21.com!  Some of my favorite scarves of all-time are from Forever 21 and cost under $5 bucks!

What's your favorite music to listen to during Autumn?
I listen to whatever I like at the time, but I totally get that a lot of songs have seasonal vibes.  For me, summer is all about infectious hooks and cheeky songs like Katy Perry's California Gurls, Arianna Grande's Problem, Iggy Azalea's Fancy, and Poison's Nothin' But A Good Time.  To me, "fall" music has a more dreamy/moody quality to it.  A few faves are Lana del Rey's This Is What Makes Us Girls, Muse's Starlight, Heart's These Dreams, and Glenn Frey's You Belong to the City.

What's your favorite perfume scent this time of the year?
Lately it's been Chloe because I'm almost finished with the bottle and I am on a mission to have it in my next empties post!  I also love Elizabeth & James Nirvana White, even though it's by no means strong or heady like a lot of fall/winter fragrances.
Candles - what scents will you be burning this season?
Pumpkin Caramel Latte from Bath + Body Works is one of my favorite scents EVER!  I also picked up a mini sized candle of Leaves and I like that one, but not as much as Pumpkin Caramel Latte.

What do you love most about Autumn?
Where do I even begin?!  It's so fleeting here in Atlanta that it's like a unicorn.  After a summer of high heat and humidity that won't quit, there's something absolutely magical about cool breezes, crisp leaves, and getting to wear layers and sweaters and cozy clothes, and have a fire in the fireplace!  I love watching the leaves change; maples are my favorite with their fiery colors.  Sipping coffee in the sunroom with the windows open to allow the deliciously humidity-free breeze into the apartment while I read blogs on Sundays is one of my favorite things in life!
Favorite makeup look?
Light matte brown eyeshadows and richer lip colors in tarnished reds and berries says autumn to me.  I also love a purple smoky eye!
What are you looking forward to most this fall?
October 13th will be me and Jason's 6 year anniversary and October 26th is our 6 month wedding anniversary!  I'm also super thrilled to be taking a trip to Arizona with my BFF Emily in early November!  We're going for a wedding of a friend of hers and then staying a few extra days to explore.  We're going to drive some of Route 66, which is a dream come true for both of us!
Emily & me, Sassytown, 2 tickets pls

  1. EEEP!!! Your wedding photos are AMAZING. SO Gorgeous are you and Jason too LOL!!! I can't imagine what fall is like for you haha. SO different from here that's for sure! 2. Aww you guys are CUUUUTE!!! I'm not sure if PSL has touched down in Belgium yet, but I WON'T MISS IT AGAIN THIS YEAR! I'm not that big on Starbucks, and there wasn't one in my town until recently, but last year I missed out because it never seemed like the right time for one when I was somewhere with a Starbucks. Gimme that good stuff ;)

  4. LOL, love the sassytown pose. And the GIANT PSL cup (go big or go home, right?!). Route 66 sounds exciting! Some of your enthusiasm for autumn is starting to rub off on me. ;)

  5. Oooh, the upcoming trip sounds like lots of fun! And our wedding anniversary is in October, too! Best time to get married - summer weddings are overrated! ;)

When we lived in Seattle, things would be starting to cool down about now, but this morning on the radio, they were like "It's 75 degrees, it's FALL!" and I'm like WUT. T_T

  6. Can't get enough of your wedding photos, Kristen! You two look absolutely perfect and flawless!!! ;D I've been loving the E&J Nirvana white, too. I think it's a perfect scent all year round. :)

So jel of you getting on the road trip! I haven't done that in ages! -__-"

  7. WOOT! Great tag, I think I might tag myself. Not sure.. I did actually do the fall tag last year, but my answers have obviously changed!! AMEN to PSL, I get mine iced.. but hot is cool too.. LOL. Hot is cool... What?
All hail QUEEN LANA and Elizabeth & James Nirvana White... Two things I've been surrounding myself with!

I enjoy your reference to autumn being a unicorn down in ATL. It's rather unfortunate for you, because sweater weather is just THE BEST and everyone deserves loads of it.

HOORAY for anniversaries! I like that you got married close to (but not on) your dating anniversary. That's one thing I always think about and get sad.. Like, all these people dating and married total of three years are going to think they're cooler than us!?? Nah son. 6 and 7 years is where the true love hides... Ya'll three years don't know what's up. Rant? Sorry....

    Much Love!!

  8. AND THE WEDDING PICTURES. How I forgot to coo over them in my comment is beyond me. I love them. You look beautiful and you both look SO happy. I'm just .. UGH. LOVE.

  9. OMG almost 6 month since you've been married, that's nuts! It seems like it just happened. And I feel like my wedding was just last week, even though it's been over a month haha. And I am still so happy all the stress of wedding planning is over!!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Right?! I remember when you were one week out and I was so excited for you! I agree, having the stress behind us is AWESOME. Did you go through the post wedding blues at all? My husband and I both did, which surprised us greatly since we didn't think we were that "into" the wedding and both were excited to finally have it and stop the stress building up to the event. I hope you and hub cakes are doing great! :)

  11. You obvs must do the tag every year to show your updated loves! ;) Hot is cool, LOL! Speaking of the Fall unicorn of ATL, it was 64 here today and we had all our windows open AND had a post-work porch sitting session replete with bird watching. AMAZE!
Your comments about the anniversaries cracked me up! I know! Jason and I both felt like we couldn't stop celebrating our original anniversary, b/c that one's the most important! Without that, there wouldn't be a wedding anniversary in the mix! Kudos and props to 6-7 years, son! ;)
    Much love and taco shells!

  12. Oh thank you so much, SE! We were both so overjoyed that whole day. I know everyone says it, but the cliche of it being the happiest day of our lives was totally true!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Thank you so much, Jaa! It was the best day ever! I'm glad you're not sick of seeing them yet, lol! We have over 1200 photos...WHOA! I agree, E&J Nirvana White works all the time - I love it. Have you smelled Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream?!?! OMG. I know what my next fragrance will be!
You def need a road trip, girl! They are the best thing ever. Me and Emily haven't done one since 2008 so it's been long overdue!

  14. Aw, how long have you been married, Larie? Happy early anniversary! <3 I've always wanted to visit Seattle, it looks so beautiful! Where do you live now? 75 and fall sounds like here! I overhead a lady at work today (wearing a knit sweater, no less) as another person who'd just come in from outside if it was cold! I was cracking up! It was in the mid-70s! Only in Atlanta would someone find that cold! (o';'o)

  15. Ha! Thank you! We love visiting Sassytown. ;) And yas, honey, go big or go home def applies when it comes to PSLs, and Gingerbread lattes. Oh my lord, if you think I was overly excited about PSLs, just wait until the roll out the Gingerbreads and Eggnogs. I will be pressing my face to the glass of my local Starbucks. I'm excited that some of my fall love is rubbing off! Magical! Maybe next year some of your summer enthusiasm will rub off on me!

  16. Thank you, Lily! I know! It's unbelievable! We still haven't even ordered our thank you cards, much less sent them out! UM OOPS. I know we have a year but I'm started to feel stressy about it, lol!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Aw, thank you, Sunny! When are we going to see you and Dr. D in your garb!?! Need to you all dolled up, lady, and it would be nice to see Dr. D! In my mind, he's like the mom on Muppett Babies - around but we never see his face! ;) I can't wait for you to get your first PSL in Belgium! This is exciting for me and I have no idea why, LOL!

  18. Tracy, thank you so much! It was truly the happiest day ever for both of us. We were sad when it was over because we had so much fun! I wish all of my treasured bblogger friends could have attended! OMG that would have been amazing! I was telling Stephanie Eva we should start our own bblogger conference in Cape Cod and call it the Glam Bake! ;) I'd arrange for everyone to be picked up at the airport in Glambulances complete with champagne and free beauty loot! LOL!
WARM?? In Alberta?? In September? I'm scared, too! You should be wearing your cable knits and furry hooded coats by now, right?! One day, I will experience real snowfall (and probably feel very afraid, lol)!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. That sounds like the BEST conference ever hahahaha!
I know-I still have the AC going on. This never happens. I think it's finally going to cool down this weekend. I want to wear a jacket for cripes sake LOL. But watch, we'll get like ONE WEEK of fall weather and then BOOM. SNOW. I sure hope that's not what's gonna happen!
You need to come visit up here and see the snow for reals some day! I have a spare bedroom now...;)

  20. Such a fun tag! Love me a good PSL!
We have actually had pretty nice, fall weather here in Texas...which is cray! But I'm enjoying it!
Happy almost 6 month wedding anniversary, time sure does fly!
    xo

  21. Agreed! I love the coffees during this time of the year, and I am dying to try the Elizabeth and James Nirvana White!

    Love this :)

    Xx,
    Corinne

  22. Yeah, autumn is a bit like a unicorn here too. First there's summer, and then BAM, snow storms like you can't imagine. Winter isn't 'coming' in Switzerland, winter just appears out of nowhere here.

Loved the tag, a Pumpkin Caramel Latte candle sounds absolutely divine. And I loved your wedding throwback pics!

    ReplyDelete
  23. give me all the scarves. swoon! wish the weather stayed nice and cool for longer!

    ReplyDelete
  24. OMG you were such a stunning bride, Kristen! You look SO radiant and so happy :D. Also, we have the same music taste!! hehe. One of my fave things about fall is pumpkin pie! so delicious...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Aww, you wedding photos always makes me smile, Kristen! You look like the HAPPIEST bride -- like, everyone looks beautiful on their wedding day, but you're freakin' glowing.

Fall is super fleeting up here, too, so I love each and every moment of it ;) It's been crazy warm, as Tracy already mentioned, but the past two or three days have been a lot more brisk! And the trees are so pretty right now //happy sighs

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thank you so much, Lily! Time does fly! :)
And yes, fall weather in Texas? That's a nice treat!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh, you would love Nirvana White! I know we've never met and therefore I have no basis for such a claim, but I just *feel* like it's totally you, lol! :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. LOL, you're right! I can't imagine going from warm summer breezes to snow storms! That's quite a shock to the system, I imagine! Thank you - I can't wait to see you in your wedding dress all gussied up and looking stunning, Melissa! I'm so excited for you!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Absolutely! ALL of the scarves, STAT! And yes, truth. A longer fall sounds incredible!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thank you so much, Carolyn! :D I love that we have similar taste in music! Same skin, same music, same love for the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, what is next, I ask?! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thank you so much, Rae! I felt like the happiest and luckiest person alive that day. Even if it had poured rain and the caterers got lost, I honestly don't think I would have even cared. The best thing I ever did was marry my best friend! :)
LOL, ok any time someone in Canada says "crazy warm", I get scared because I know the impending Ice-pocalypse is just waiting for everyone to get all comfortable and then BAM - it brings the pain! Last winter was CRAZEBALLS; even down here we got snow and ice several times which seriously NEVER happens. I'm getting snow boots this year. I will not be fooled again!! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Seriously!! :D I would love to meet you in person one day! I feel like we'd get along very well, hehe :). Hope you are having a good start to your week, Kristen!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'd love to come visit!! We can glambake it all on our own, lol! And I could see REAL snow! My husband is from Albany, NY so he's familiar with the white stuff but it's been a LONG time since he's been around a true winter after he left NY for college in NC. After he graduated, he moved to Miami for a year, so he got REALLY for away from cold weather, lol! OMG maybe we could go to an Oilers game! One of our bucket list items is to go see a hockey game in actual factual Canada! :D

    ReplyDelete
  34. Agreed! I'm telling you, someone needs to make my Glambake idea a reality! We could all get together in Cape Cod and shop for makeup and swap stories! It would be so much fun!

    ReplyDelete
  35. DO IT. Seriously. The Rocky mountains are WORTH seeing. They are so huge. And awe-inspiring. Makes everything you worry about feel so small. And you know what? I've NEVER been to an Oilers game LOL. The Winnipeg Jets are my home team, so those are the games I've seen! But if you guys come, we can SO do that. And visit Terry working HAHAHA doing the Hockey Night Coverage and you could see the mobile truck too! AND get a sticker LOL.
