FIVE FAVE! | Fall Lippies

Today it finally felt like fall here in the ATL!  Jason and I booked it down to Grantville, Senoia, Griffin, and Newnan to check out a few stops along The Walking Dead tour and the weather was just gloriousness on a platter!  It was finally cool enough to wear a scarf and boots!  Halelujah!
Since it's feeling autumnal out, I figured I'd share my five fave fall lippies!  None of these are/were limited edition shades so if you see one you like, you can pick it up at your leisure.  :)
NARS Risky Business Lip Gloss: A gorgeous mauve with iridescent flecks.  Perfect for all skin tones and easy enough to apply without a mirror in hand.
Revlon Fig Jam Lip Butter: A brownish fig tinted balm.  This is another beautiful shade best suited for those who aren't ready to plunge into the world of dark lips.  A toe dip into autumn color!
Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Rich Raisin: A plum with red undertones that can be built up to medium opacity or applied sheer for a wash of plummy goodness.
MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Creme In Your Coffee: A plum-mauve hybrid that glides on like butter, this shade is a cult favorite for a reason!
NARS Sheer Lipstick in Vendanges: A brown-tinged plum that's very comfortable to wear; it feels like a lip balm.  This is one of my all-time favorite fall colors for the past few years!  It pairs beautifully with brown or purple eyeshadows, or just a bit of black or brown eyeliner, and tons of black mascara.
What are some of your favorite fall lippies?  What's your favorite thing about autumn?

  1. I've always loved berry lipsticks, regardless of season :-) I remember I loved autumn for the rich colour palettes and the crispy leaves under my feet. Now that I'm back in my home country, it's just hot and humid all year round. Makes me miss my days when I was studying abroad...

  2. did you go to the walker stalker con? it seemed like everyone i know went lol

  3. Yay for all this Walking Dead business!! I'm so glad you're experiencing some fall weather. I really can't get enough. Yesterday Spencer and I went with some friends to a not-so-local-but-still-local-middle-of-the-woods renaissance faire... Weather was just fantastico chillz high of 54F... Just because I like to know weird things; how chilly is a normal ATL fall? Does it get down to the 50's or because you're more south does it chicken out at like 65F? hah!

BACK TO LIPPIES; I really gotta (gahtah, with heavy bawston accent) get my mitts on Fig Jam because first, the name sounds like something I'd (probably you too) use in a sentence. Baboom, FIG JAM. Also because it looks like a good toe-dip into autumn, well put! Cream in your coffee also looks (and sounds) devine. Vendanges I keep thinking is vengeances... Actually looks a lot like a Maybelline (I think??) lipstick I have. I want to do this favorite fall lipsticks post, I'm sure it will be on there... You will see sistah!

MUCH Love and pumpkins and coffee!

  4. I know The Walking Dead is a great show, but it's just not something I can watch (yes, I am that much of a wimp)! But yay, berry! I am now big on plummy and berry shades. They're JUST RIGHT for autumn!

  5. HAHA, I'm with Sunny - no zombies for me, please. I need to do my autumn lip love post, too! I'm digging berries this season, as well, which is new for me - I'm usually all about red!

  6. Thank you, Lily! It was a blast! We love road trippin'. We were in the car yesterday for over 6 hours and it didn't feel like it at all, which is a good sign, lol! Creme In Your Coffee is just such a good one! I feel like it should be a staple color everyone should at least try on once. <3

  7. Ha ha, Larie! I love The Walking Dead for the human side of the story, but it took a few episodes for me to get past the guts and gore. But I know it's not for everyone! I love berries on you!

  8. Ha! I actually didn't watch The Walking Dead until it had been on the air for about 3 seasons because I thought it was all zombie killing and whatnot, but I gave the pilot episode a shot and was hooked immediately by the humanity side of the story. It also helps that's it's set and filmed here so there are so many familiar places which is really cool! Every show seems to be set in NY so it's a nice change. Plummy and berry are where it's at for fall, man! I'm loving it!!

  9. I wish we'd planned better so we could have gone, but we decided to just do another road trip set tour type thing instead. It was a blast, but next year we are definitely going to Walker Stalker! :D

  10. That tour! I loved seeing your pics! I'd love to take it some day!
These are all lovely picks! I have such a hard time wearing berries though! I feel they make me look OLD hahaha!

  11. I enjoy your IG feed so much, Kristen! Your voice is LOVELY! ;D I have yet to find my favorite fall lip color... so the search continues! Thanks for your suggestion, though!

  12. Thank you so much, Jaa-Jaa! :D You are the kindest person on wheels. It's hard to narrow the field down to 5, much less 1, favorite! May the makeup forces be with you in locating a fall favorite! <3

  13. Thank you, boo! It was so much fun and I hope you get to take it someday! Jason is super into planning the trips and hunting down random locations so all I really have to do is get in the car and take pictures! Plus day tripping with him is fun even if we just end up at a grocery store, so seeing TV back drops has been amazing. I want to go to NM and see some of the places from Breaking Bad, like Walter White's house, and basically ALL OF THE DESERT. Those sunsets!!
I feel like if you could locate a lavender-leaning plum, or one with some gold shimmer in it, things could be sizzling. With those baby blues, anything is possible, ladybug! ;)

  17. Risky Business looks gorgeous! No wonder you love that lipgloss :). Fig Jam also looks like a beautiful starter lipstick, like you said. You know, to be honest, I don't really follow guidelines for fall makeup sometimes. While I'll feel more comfortable wearing darker lippies like plums or browns, I still love my pink, nude, etc. lippies and glosses too! That might change though if I were to live in a colder weather place! I do look forward to wearing Burberry Blueberry Lip Mist and the Chanel RCS from the fall collection :).

  18. Aw, thank you so much, Galaxia! :D Creme In Your Coffee would really look gorgeous on you - and yes, definitely check out the pilot episode of TWD if you have Netflix. That's how I got hooked!

  19. Oh certainly! I'm definitely not ONLY wearing plums, purples and browns during the fall - I wore MAC Angel this week! - but these are the shades in my collection that most put me in the fall mood when I wear them! I'll always love pink lipstick the absolute most and wear it year-round; and I also will wear purple or brown in the middle of summer without feeling like "uh oh...this is seasonally inappropriate!", lol! I am still in love with the Burbs Blueberry, I must say. I haven't stopped thinking about it, and it's been months now! :)

  20. Thank you, Emi Doll! The NARS colors are wonderful! <3

  21. I had Creme In Your Coffee before but gave it to my sister because it felt like such a serious shade while I was heading into brights. Sister wears it to the office, lol. I've been enjoying plums and purples as well as NARS Autumn Leaves which... just look at the name, haha.

  22. Oh no I don't think we have that shade of Revlon Lip Butter here in the UK, I might cry! What is life without every single shade of Lip Butter in it :'( How amazing are those pictures from The Walking Dead tour as well?! So jealous!

  28. I love Rich Raisin and Vendanges! And I love the Walking Dead tour photos - I dont watch at all (too stressful for my life LOL) but I find it pretty cool that there's a walking tour for it! :)

  29. i completely forgot about that revlon lip butter

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thanks, Hannah! I bet Fig Jam is amazing on you! <3

  31. Ha ha! "Too stressful for my life" - you are hilarious, Shari! It's really fun to live so close to where this world-wide famous show is being filmed / set. I feel like in the US, every show is shot or set in NY or LA only, so it's a nice change. :)

  32. Isn't it fun when one person's "plum" is another's "MLBB"?! I love makeup, LOL!

  33. I agree! Fall is just such a visually stunning season! And three cheers to budget-friendly Forever 21 lippie action! WOOHOOO! :)

  34. Thank you, Sam! Creme In Your Coffee is a great color year-round, but especially fun during the cooler months. It pairs so well with daytime smoky eyes and/or plum blush. Definitely give The Walking Dead a shot; it's an amazing show!

  35. Thank you, Melissa! Fig Jam is a winner! <3

  36. Oh no! I hope you have it there in the UK and no tears were shed, Alexandra! LOL at your comment! So cute. And thanks, The Walking Dead tour was a blast!

  37. Creme In Your Coffee is definitely an office-going staple because it's subtle. Autumn Leaves has called to me every fall for the past several years but hasn't made it home with me....yet. ;)

  38. Oh my gosh, Creme In Your Coffee should MOST DEF be your first MAC lippie! Beware though: once you go MAC, you never go back, ha ha! ;) I actually have a post dedicated to the items I consider must-haves from MAC! http://www.glambunctious.com/2014/04/must-haves-mac-cosmetics.html Much love, peaches! :*

  39. Rich Raisin and Creme in Your Coffee look so amazing. I really like the Revlon Lip Butters for the winter, especially Pink Truffle which is a very MLBB shade for me. :)

  40. Ooh! Pink Truffle, you say? MLBB? I'm in. Will be on the look out for that the next time I head into a drugstore! :) Thanks!!
