WIMB? | Fort Walton Beach, FL ❤️ 1st Wedding Anniversary!

Happy Sunday!  Today is our 1st wedding anniversary!  I can't believe it's already been an entire year since Jason and I tied the knot on a gorgeous, sunny spring day in Atlanta!  *happy sighs*
To celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary, we booked a road trip to sunny Fort Walton Beach, Florida!  I'm so excited!  [I'm scheduling this to post during our holiday, so we're there now as you're reading this.]  Here's what's coming with me in my makeup bag.
For this trip, I'm covering my bases (ha!) with NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer (reviewed) and DiorSkin Nude Air Serum SPF 20 Foundation.  The NARS PRTM provides SPF 30 while giving my skin a radiant finish and medium plus coverage.  I used this on our honeymoon in Puerto Rico and had zero issues with the SPF melting and sliding into my eyes.  The DiorSkin Nude Air Foundation offers a lightweight, skin-like finish with medium buildable coverage, perfect for a date night dinner.  My concealer weapon of choice is the Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark-Circle Eye Roller because it de-puffs and covers.
My brows will be handled by Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brown and Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep.
I'm bringing 2 blushes, a neutral and a pop: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure and City Color Cosmetics Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon.  The Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint Powder Duo in 02 Natural / Blondes is coming along because a girl's gotta bronze. ;)
I decided to take my Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette.  I know a 20-shadow mega palette may not seem to be in compliance with my light packing school of thought at first glance, but think about the big picture here.  Since Vice 3 contains a fabulous full-sized mirror, including this palette eradicates the need to bring a separate one.  *Moar* space in my case!  Rounding out the eyes is L'Oreal Miss Manga Waterproof Mascara, Clinique Cream Shaper For Eyes in Chocolate Lustre (reviewed), and NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.
I'm keeping the lips quite simple with Supergoop! Acai Fusion Lip Balm with SPF 30, NARS Salamanca Lip Gloss (which also accompanied me on our honeymoon! Ah memories!), and Chanel Murmure Glossimer.  Even though they're not pictured, count on there being an Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick (reviewed) or two kicking around in my purse as well.  :)

What makeup would you pack for a beach getaway?

  1. Kristen, your wedding photos look so beautiful! And your dress was perfect! Congrats on the 1st year! I celebrated my 5th wedding anniversary on Friday too (if I remember correctly yours is on 24th too).

I hope you have a wonderful trip and I love all the products you took with you- you did well with not taking too much! I would probably take twice as much!

  2. Man I haven't had a beach holiday in years! I always packed way more than necessary. I think now I would take a cc cream, radiant magenta, an eyeshadow quad and a clarins lip perfector thing. Have a great holiday!

yea, I'm pretty happy i picked up vice 3. i didn't like any of the other vices. the colors seems way to out there but this one had some good neutrals to help work in some of those crazier colors.
have an awesome time during your road trip!

I would be bringing a whoooole lot more (you know, just in case) how are you liking the new jolitient powder? are you mostly using it as a bronzer or an I'll over powder? anyways, congrats again you lovebirds! xoxo

  7. Congratulations again on your first wedding anniversary! It's so weird to think it was a year ago!!! YIKES. So exciting!
Loved seeing what you're bringing with you. Especially happy to hear that NARS PRTM doesn't slide all over in the warm weather. I have it but haven't had a chance to officially try it in warm weather... Woot!

I hope your time in FL only keeps gettin' bettah!
    MUCH LOVE!!!!!

  8. Thank you! I agree! It definitely doesn't feel like an entire year has passed, so that's good, lol! :)
I'm happy to report back that the NARS PRTM won at life yet again! I didn't even end up using the Dior Nude Air, just slammed on the PRTM and went about my day! <3
    Mucho love!

  9. Thank you so much for your sweet words, Kendra! LOL @ "ya know, just in case" - I do know! I always want to bring more but rarely end up using even half of what I bring. I love the Guerlain Joli Teint and use it as a bronzer. The little strip of color could be used on it's own as a blush, though!

  10. Aw, thank you so much, Jenn! It was truly the best day of our lives and filled with so many happy memories. :) I haven't liked any other Vice palettes myself, but 3 was just too comprehensive to pass up! I think it's my second favorite palette of life (the first being the OG Naked). I love any palette with a good set of neutrals to work seamlessly with the bold shadows and relieve the impulse to grab another palette or singles to fill in the void.

  12. Ha ha! Yes, I was definitely covered! Next time, I think I'll pair it down even more because I only wore a full face one night, and the rest of the time it was just NARS PRTM and Maybelline Baby Lips SPF 20! Thank you for the anniversary wishes! Soon it will be time for you and Dr. D's 1st!

  14. Thank you so much, Agata! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you guys! 5! Wow! That's awesome! Ours is actually the 26th, but who's counting? ;)
I think I can take even less next time. I didn't even use some of the things I brought since we only went out to eat "fancy" one time and the rest of the time was just casual SPF livin', lol! Wish I'd remembered to spray my hairline with sunscreen! I got burned and brushing the hair is not feeling too hot. Camilla Alves and her "hair is important" mantra would not approve, LOL! :D

  15. Thank you so much, Kiki! <3 We did! It was so nice to get away for the weekend and enjoy the toes-in-the-sand feeling. As a fellow oily gal, I am with you 100% on loving what the sun and salt does for the skin! It's so nice to have clear, happy skin, even if it's just for a short stint. You can't go wrong with a BB/CC cream and tinted balms! That's the essence of summer! :)
