Jason and I just finished watching Skyfall and it. was. AWESOME! I've never seen an entire James Bond movie (I know!), only bits and pieces of the 70's and 80's installments on late night TV. The opening chase sequence was so suspenseful and explosive, I sat transfixed with my mouth agape. When the scene ended and Adele's lovely voice started singing the title theme, our eyes met and we both had "holy $#!%" looks on our faces.
What does this have to do with NARS' Marie-Galante Eyeshadow Duo? I had the same thrilled look on my face when I saw
a look done with it by the lovely Christine at Temptalia several months ago.

The shadows are described as an "iridescent orchid" and an "iridescent regal blue" and they contain purple and blue micro glitter. The shadows are on the sheer side, and that's one of the reasons why I bought it. The lighter wash of color is one of the things that makes them wearable for me personally. I love that the colors aren't as punchy and go on like a sheer overlay. The iridescent micro glitter is gorgeous!

Without primer, these shadows creased at the 8 hour mark, but I had no creasing or fading when I wore them over a primer.
If you're looking for a more subtle way to wear purple, I think this duo belongs on your wish list!
Did you see Skyfall? What's your favorite Bond movie?

I've never seen a Bond movie! EVER. But my hubby is a huge fan and he said if I was to watch one Bond movie then Skyfall is it. So, if you liked it then I think I WILL watch it! I always thought that this palette was really pretty too!
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely watch Skyfall, Tracy! It was really fantastico!
DeleteI totally saw Skyfall, TWICE as well (the first time I went alone because the bf was not here. When he got back I talked him into going LOL)! I watched some 007 movies growing up because both of my parents are fans. Didn't like Daniel Craig much till I saw this one though!
ReplyDeleteAnnnd Marie-Galante! I have swatched it. The texture is interesting and I think I'd layer it on a base to get the colors to pop! I bet the colors work well for your green eyes!
I could definitely see Skyfall again - wish I'd seen it at the theatre! I want to see Casino Royale and see how Daniel Craig does in that one!
DeleteInteresting is a good description of the texture - it's definitely not like anything I've used before! I do love the colors, and purple is a good pop color for my peepers! :)
Oh gorgeous gorgeous swatches!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Melissa! :D
DeleteLove the color swatches, Kristen! I've seen quite a few of the Bond movies and can't wait to see Skyfall after your review!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny! I can't wait for you to see it, too! I'd love to hear what you think of it. There's one scene that is SO pretty, I know you will be googly-eyed!
Deletelol cannot believe you tied Skyfall into NARS. i enjoyed the movie and also like Die Another Day and Casino Royale...and others hahaha And this eyeshadow duo looks amazzzzing. Don't forget to get your daily entries in my I ♥ Makeup giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLOL, thanks! Casino Royale is tops on my to watch list, and I'll have to add Die Another Day, too! Isn't that the one with Halle Berry? :)
DeleteMy dad is a huge Bond fan! I just like the polishes that came with the movies. :p
ReplyDeleteHow to you think these would perform under a dark base?
Ha! That's all I knew about them before Skyfall, Jasmine! I totally spotted the signature OPI color in the movie on one of the characters and got all excited like a nerd! I think these shadows would be really striking over a dark base, actually. The glitter is really gorgeous in a non-1996 school dance kind of way. lol!
DeleteLove how you connected James Bond to makeup! I loved Skyfall. I too have seen all the movies ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michelle! Sometimes inspiration comes from interesting places! I can't wait to have a James Bond movie fest once we figure out where to get them! Couldn't find them On Demand through Cable or on Netflix. What was your favorite one?
