REVIEW! | NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla

The tag line for NARS' Radiant Creamy Concealer, $28.00 for 0.22 oz, should be "The insomniac's best friend!"

Lately I've been having trouble getting to bed before the birds start chirping and this concealer's been the BFF I most look forward to seeing every morning as I shuffle incoherently to the makeup table.

I purchased Vanilla (a slightly pink-tinged neutral), the second lightest color in the ten shade range.  For reference, I'm Deauville (Light 4) in NARS foundation, NW 20 in MAC, and Buff Beige in Revlon.  I also like long walks on the beach and my favorite holiday movie is Home Alone.  But I digress!  On me, Vanilla is a great balance of pink and yellow undertones and it really brings a brightness to my face when applied under my eyes.

In the photos above I'm not wearing concealer under the left eye (insert TLC jokes here), and three dots of NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer under the right eye.  This side by side comparison really illustrates how much light this concealer brings to the table!
This concealer has a thicker consistency, which means it dominates in the field of coverage!  Three dots from the doe-foot applicator under each eye and all traces of shadows are obliterated!  The fact that I have to use so little of it to get the job done means this 0.22 oz tube is going to last me a long, long time.

Mixing this concealer with a tiny dab of caffeinated eye cream (I use MAC Fast Response Eye Cream, but there are tons of options available, including products from Clinique and Garnier) really helps you look like a 22 year old without a care in the world!

My Rating: A

  1. That's a good idea to mix it with an eye cream to thin it out a bit, because yeah it does settle into fine lines if you have dry under eyes like me. The only one that I've found that doesn't do that is the Giorgio Armani Maestro Concealer-that stuff is my HG concealer for sure!

    1. Ooh, why does everything by GA sounds like it's the ultimate - like it comes with sparkles dancing to and fro? :) Have you ever tried their Luminous Silk foundation? It's apparently the greatest ever!

  2. Hey Kristen, thanks for the eye cream tip! I don't think I've tried one with caffeine, but if it's going to make me look 22 again I'm IN!
