I was inspired by the witty Lily of Chloe Ash to join Project Make A Dent. Basically, you round up a few makeup items you want to see some pan action on and you use the damn things like there's no tomorrow! If you have a larger makeup stash than most, you know how enjoyable it is to see that lovely silver lining in the form of fresh metal pan peeking out at you. I want this glory!
One of my selections has already revealed a wink of pan so that might be cheating, but let's face it: I am the slowest powder consumer known to man. I hit pan on my purse compact months ago and there's STILL a ton of powder to be used up. The lipsticks look close to empty, but to put it in perspective, that's how they've looked for the last nine months. So, without further adieu...here are my 7 nominees!
- Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Shade 01 Rose Shimmer
- Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Bamboo Pink
- Dior Addict Lipstick in #260 Rose Deshabille (review here)
- NARS Deep Throat Powder Blush (review here)
- Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer (review here)
- Urban Decay Virgin Eyeshadow (Naked Palette review here)
- YSL Matt + Radiant Pressed Powder
I'll keep you posted on my pan power progress! ☺
If you participate in any pan-hitting project escapades, let me know in the comments! If not, will you join me in Project Make A Dent? What's the last product you hit pan on?
Awesome stuff! You're already off to a great start. I haven't seen any pan action in my eye shadows before. Ever! I'd be so proud if I could. Lol!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lily! I don't think I ever have prior to this little pan of Virgin (that sounds odd)! It took me since 2011 though, LOL! Thank you for RT-ing my twitter post, boo! :D
ReplyDeleteYou go, Kristen! I think I can make a dent, but I'm not sure I'll ever hit pan on anything! I don't apply/reapply makeup often enough for that, to be honest. Considering for half of the week I'm just stuck in front of my computer with no makeup on, this is not a challenge I can take on! Can't wait to see your progress though :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Going to Chloe.Ash Beauty Blog now to check her out, too! I have not hit the glorious pan in, uh, years. I think one blush I own is getting super close, but still nada! Good luck on your journey, Lolita!! Can't wait for the update! Hahah.
ReplyDeleteMuch Love,

I hit pan on Laguna and actually finished a whole one. I've just had a bit of a gross product past expiration date clearout and my lip perfector is in it!
ReplyDeleteFound my charger and bookmarked your page! I love this post and can't wait to participate!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! ;-) I'm starting to hit the pan on some of my favorite MAC eyeshadows and it just freaks me out, lol!
ReplyDeleteYes, it definitely helps that I work outside the home and have lots of use opportunities! Although I always take Sundays off and never wear makeup that day unless we've made plans. Skin needs a break. Anywho, I bet you could pick out a few lippies that get a lot of love from you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I look forward to hearing whether or not that delicious blush pan ever steps forward in a moment of glory! What?! Mucho love! <3<3
ReplyDeleteFinishing a Laguna should be worth an additional 80 points! My lip perfector's about to kick it's expiration date too! I'm trying to beat the clock!
ReplyDeleteYe-yah! Go Hannah! Glad you found your charger and extra excited for you to participate! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melz! Which ones are you most scared of using up? What's your most used MAC eyeshadow?
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Kristen!!
ReplyDeleteIt kind of freaks me out when I hit pan on certain items...I'm weird! LOL!
Yeah I think I saw the original post that you linked to as well. Its almost TOO monumental a task for me and then I have to start thinking about how that means I have TOO much makeup which will then lead to me feeling even guiltier about new purchases etc. I have to muster up the mental strength to do this bahaha.
ReplyDeleteOk, one question. Do I need Deep Throat from Nars?? Their names just KILL ME!!! I hit pan on Nars Orgasm all the time and MAC Cork shadow. Hilarious idea, love love it.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I know! It was my first ever NARS blush and I remember praying no one would ask me what it was called! It's a lighter pink than Orgasm (another great name...!) with less shimmer. It's like Orgasm Light. Mini Orgasm?! I can't believe I'm typing this! Oh mon dieu! :O ;)
ReplyDeleteAw, don't feel ashamed! If anything, singling out a few products for a project like this will make you really assess your stash. I went through mine and found a bunch of stuff that I set aside to sell and some things that had expired. So it was like Fall cleaning! Plus, think of it this way, Dee: clearing out some of the old makes room for NEW! ;)
ReplyDeleteHa! I love it. I think because it means I can start scoping out a shiny new replacement goodie! :)
ReplyDelete*admires the pan on the YSL* I can almost see my face reflected back in it... yes!
ReplyDeleteHaha, powders used to be easy to finish but it's been a while. I have a giant pan going on a tiny cream blush and hope to showcase that in my next empties post. :DDD
oh my god, I love it, mini orgasm....I'm dying right now!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI recently hit pan on my MAC blot powder and Laura Mercier pressed powder! I was so happy I almost cried. LOL. I know how you must feel!
ReplyDeleteHii Kristen! Does the YSL powder have oil control? That's awesome that you are doing this! The last time I hit pan was quite awhile ago :(, with MAC MSF Natural. I should really join this effort as I really need to hit pan WAY more often...
ReplyDeleteI rarely hit pan on makeup! I always give it to my sisters way before I hit pan. I'm going to really try to use stuff up a lot more. Lol!!!!
ReplyDeletei am sooo bad about this!! mucho claps for you girl!
ReplyDeleteI need to do this!!
ReplyDeleteYes, seeing your own reflection in a pan is a powerful moment, LOL! Silly but true! :D Cannot wait to see your "bare bottomed" cream blush (WHAT?!) in your next empties post!
ReplyDeleteWOOHOOOO! Dual pan hitting has got to be a wonderful feeling, lol! Are you going to do an empties post featuring those beauties?
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn! Ye, the YSL powder is great for oil control. It's matte with some life, if that makes any sense; it's not a flat look but it's not remotely shimmery. I never have to re-powder or use an oil blotting sheet on days when I use it as my setting powder. LOVE! It's less shimmery than MAC MSFN - which hardly has much shimmer at all, but it's a good reference point! They're pretty similar, actually, I just find the YSL slightly more matte. I will be returning to MSFN once I clean out this YSL pan as I have a half finished one tucked away!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a fun feeling of accomplishment to finish something, ESPECIALLY makeup! You should nominate a few items in your stash and try to finish 'em up. You have lucky sisters, btw! :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Thank you for the mucho claps, Elle! That cracked me up! I LOVED your "Finish by Fall" idea - I wish you good luck!!
ReplyDeleteDo it, Michelle! It's really fun! <3
ReplyDeleteThe last thing I hit pan on is my NARS Translucent Crystal Setting Powder. The main reason for that of course is setting my makeup during the summer months. As weather gets colder, my skin gets drier, so I don't always powder, and I may stop seeing progress in finishing this product really soon, it's already chilly here!
ReplyDeleteOh no! don't you hate it when you stop seeing progress because of the weather change?! I have half a tube of NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in St. Moritz - my summer shade - that's going to be collecting cobwebs all winter because my skin will be too light, lol!
