I saw this awesome post by Corinne at Necessary Nothings and it inspired me to share my picks and find out what yours are!
You have 2 minutes to grab your 5 absolute must-have makeup items before being whisked away to a secret destination. Where are you going?! You don't know. The clock is ticking!
For me, the first thing I'd grab is the brilliant multi-tasker that is NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. It's a moisturizer! It's got almost as much coverage as a foundation! It's going in the bag!
On to the eyes! I'd toss Maybelline Volum Express Pumped Up! Colossal Mascara in the bag, followed quickly by my daily must-have, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brown. To think I only just made filling in my brows part of my permanent morning routine this year is shocking to me! How have I gone 34 years without this crucial step?! Tick, tock! There's no time to lament brows of days past!
Next, my fave category: blush. Or as my husband calls it, "rouge", because he's from 1914. For this destination unknown adventure, I'd go with my trusty steed of cheekery, Benefit Dallas. Depending on where it's placed on the face, it could be a blush or a bronzer, and it goes with anything.
Last but certainly not least, lips! I'd round out my grab-n-go bag with NARS Salamanca Lip Gloss since it can be built up for a pop of color, or applied sheer for a hint of watermelon pink shine.
So, hot shot, what 5 ride or die products would make it into your getaway bag? ☺
I'd probably grab similar things - my Bobbi Brown BB Cream, Shu Uemura brow pencil, mascara, Bobbi Brown pot rouge for both cheeks and lips.... and probably an eye liner because my eyes need perking up as much as possible. LOL!
ReplyDeleteAh! Perfect picks i'd say! :-) I have always had my eyes on Dallas! Now that its your top 5 I must reconsider it! :P My 5 must haves would be, Dior Nude BB creme, Dior Lip Glow, Chanel Destiny blush, MAC Coffee eye pencil.. actually I just need 4.. but to make it 5 I'd say add a brow gel.. any! :D

OK so here's what I'd grab: some kind of BB cream/powder foundation because they're easier to apply, a cream blush (I'd probably go with LMdB Coral Nymph), a lipstick (Dior Spring Ball/Aventure Addict Extreme), a mascara, and my BROW PENCIL! I can't live without my brow pencil LOL
ReplyDeleteI am panicking just thinking about this dreadful scenario!!! What I'd grab? My Smashbox Limitless Eye Liner, my Covergirl Flamed Out Mascara, my Catrice mattifying powder, some tinted lip balm or a good moisturizing lippie (in coral, of course) and the biggest eyeshadow palette I could find!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun post, Kristen! For some reason I felt the pressure to read the entire post in 2 minutes, too! LOL. Weird! I have to pick up that Dallas soon!
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad about just starting filling in brows. I didn't' start filling mine until a couple of years ago. Haha. And all those times I wondered why my eye looks never looked complete! Haha.
LOL @ lament and husband from 1914!! Oh wow, this is a challenge. I used to have no problem picking out a handful of faves, but I'm all over the place lately. Will definitely do a post myself later on! Finally feeling tempted to try out some NARS bases. I think that mine's going to be a BB cream with high SPF though. Yep, I've gone over to the dark side of the alphabet.
ReplyDeleteFUN post! Hahaha at 1914 hubby hahaha. Sometimes mine will say something that sounds like a Victorian gentleman LOL.
ReplyDeleteI think I might do this post since I do have to pack for next week anyways!
LOL at your husband and "rouge." That's hilarious. This is a fun tag! And omg, I've only started doing my brows daily over the past year or so, too. But now I can't go without...and it's SO BORING. Least favorite part of the routine, lol. Always the same damn color and the same damn thing.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun tag! I'm gonna try.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA JASON ROUGE. This looks like a fun post. I love that you just hit the brow game strong.
ReplyDeleteMuch Love,

lol at the rouge! that cracked me up! i still don't really do my brows. even when i've had them "done" they look the same!
ReplyDeleteThere is NO WAY I could pick stuff out in a hurry...no way! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteLove your picks!
I guess I need to try that mascara! Been thinking about it already. Will Deff pick it up this weekend! Nice choices girl! I may do this post TOO and link it back to U! ;))
ReplyDeleteI love your picks! I gotta try that mascara still :x Right now, my 5 "products" would be french fries, ranch, bacon, sweet tea, and brownies...yeah I'm too hungry to think about makeup! lol
ReplyDeleteExcellent picks! Although if I was granted an hour, I feel this challenge would become significantly more difficult, LOL! :)
ReplyDeleteAgreed! I just cant without brow products any more! Once you start, there's no turning back! ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL! You are too funny, Melissa! You made great picks based on this "dreadful scenario"! Kudos!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jaa! I love that you tried to read the whole post in 2 minutes, lol! And YAS on the brow products! I completely agree about wondering why my eye looks didn't look as nice! We are all about the brows now!
ReplyDeleteOh I'd love to see a post from you about this! It actually made it easier to have such a short amount of time to pick. When you're given 2 hours...things get complicated, lol!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! I love that you have a Victorian gentleman sometimes, cracking up! I shared that with Jason and he laughed out loud. You should def do a post like this! I'd love to see what you'd grab! And specifically, what your pick for "rouge" would be! ;)
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Right!? Who says "rouge"?! I'm glad I'm not the only one slow to board the brow train, lol! Can't wait to see your picks, Larie!
ReplyDeleteJason's bout it bout it on the rouge tip, LOL! You should do a pos ton this when you have a chance - it's really not as hard as you think when you only have a couple minutes! Much love! XOXO
ReplyDeleteRight?! He's hilarious! I would never have guessed you don't fill in your brows - maybe you have naturally gifted brows, Elle! They always look great!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I love that you threw in the towel, Lily! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great mascara! Probably my favorite one I've discovered this entire year! I'd love to see you do a post on this and see what you'd pick in a pinch! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Galaxia! This comment is just too funny! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat picks! NARS TM would be on my list too, for sure. And I'm thinking the Bite Agave lip mask. Good idea for a post! Maybe I should think of the other 3 I'd take a make a post of my own :)
ReplyDeleteI almost spit my coffee out that your hubby calls it "rouge!!" My grandmother used to call it that!! Hahahaha!! Copying you on the Anastasia Brow Wiz (holla!!), Nars "orgasm" blush, Urban Decay Naked palette (original one), Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume mascara, and any of the Buxom lip glosses.
ReplyDeleteRide or die! Everyone said that the Benefit blush tin would be perfect with Dallas in there. I have to agree, Dallas has been on my to-buy list forever!
ReplyDeleteHaha nice meme. So hot shot...my 5 ride or die products are my laura mercier secret cover concealer, MAC tinted moisturizer, NARS translucent setting powder (or MAC sheer pressed..its a toss up), annabelle black liquid eyeliner and my Dior Addict lip glow reviver( yeah im not big on mascara..shocking lol).
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenn! Ooh yes, the Bite Agave Lip Mask! "I can't quit you!" I've been searching for a budget version and thus far...nothing. I just don't think there's anything else that compares! That stuff is magic. I'd love to see a post from you with your picks! :D
ReplyDeleteLOL, right?! Rouge is such a grandmotherly type description! Your picks are quite solid; good thinking on the Naked palette! So many possibilities with that in your tool kit!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Julie! Dallas needs to find it's way home with you - it seriously looks great on everyone!
ReplyDeleteLOL, thank you! That Keanu meme makes my day! Great picks, Dee! Lip Glow is a great ride or die lippie for sure. How's the coverage on the MAC tinted moitsurizer? I've always been curious about that one!
ReplyDeleteKristen! I love how you were inspired by my post :) and I also love your picks and I agree, the Nars PRTM is such a great product for so many occasions. I also think it's hilarious that your husband calls it rouge - just like my grandma! hahaa :) men...
ReplyDeletexx,
Corinne
RIDE OR DIE bitchezzz! Love it! HAHA!
ReplyDeleteThe NARS tinted moisturizer is definitely going to be in my Ride or Die list too!! Do I spy 2 NARS and no MAC product on here? ;) Heehee
Ha ha! This cracked me up after my All MAC Everythang comment on your blog! I definitely prefer NARS glosses to MAC's Lipglass, though I will ay the last one I got was a LOT less sticky than I remember them being. NARS PRTM is ride or die 4 life, yo! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Corinne! I loved your post. And right? My husband comes out with the most hilarious old-fashioned terms sometimes! I told him no one has called it "rouge" since 1921. :)
