While on a CVS run during our Thanksgiving visit to Jason's parents in North Carolina, I found I could no longer resist the lure of the L'Oreal Glossy Balms, $7.99 USD. I picked up Lovely Mocha, a MLBB pink, and I've been reaching for it ever since!
The texture is perfect: smooth and creamy without being downright SLIPPERY. I find Lovely Mocha nicely hydrating, which is a huge bonus, and the medium opacity coverage allows for my natural lip color to shine through and make the shade unique. Glossy Balms are free of scent or taste, making them a nice option for anyone averse to minty or fruity lip products. The forgiving color and formula means I can apply this shade without a mirror! I also love that this is a twist-up pencil, so no need to worry about sharpening. Twist and shout, baby!
Lovely Mocha has become one of my favorite everyday shades, and the smooth texture feels beyond delightful on my dry, weather-beaten lips.
Have you tried one of the L'Oreal Glossy Balms? What's your favorite hydrating lip crayon?
That looks like a lipstick and gloss combined, I love that look! I think we have these in Australia so I might have to check out this shade when I finish my current MLBB crayon (or perhaps before that!)
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful! I'm a huge L'Oreal fan. Their products never disappoint. I'll have to put this on my list. (: Thanks for sharing.

PRETTY PRETTY!! I got one in California last week, as I haven't seen them here. I LIKE IT. I wish I got more!
ReplyDeleteI have one of these and I got it a while ago. I don't remember which shade I have but mine has a scent and it's terrible, smells and tastes like plastic and although I like how moisturizing it is, the smell is just off putting.
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't love a no-mirror-lipstick!?! HOLLAAAA! I have actually never seen these before, and Lovely Mocha just looks like it needs to be in my life! It looks great with your skin tone! #twistandshout hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteMuch Mocha-LOVE!!
This looks great Kristen! We don't get it here though. Sometimes I wonder what brands think, especially these drugstore ones. They never bring the good ones here so I don't even bother to check out what they have anymore!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous and very marsala too I think!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous color, it looks great on you! I've been trying to wear more hydrating lip products this winter. How long do you find it lasts on you throughout the day? :)
ReplyDeleteOh I can almost feeeeeeel the moisture! And the color is great, I love it.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely your color! I'm loving it on you! xo, Ilse
ReplyDeleteWow that's a perfect color for u! Now I want to try one of these myself! I love a good balm!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie! You'll love these! Easy and comfortable = YES! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ilse! <3 It's one of the few lip products I've used this winter that haven't led to chapped lips! YAY!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melissa! I could totally see you wearing this one, too! You'd dig the hydration factor!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sam! The Glossy Balm isn't the longest lasting product in the world (I get about 3 hours of wear) but it's SO hydrating and lovely that I don't mind reapplying it. Especially since I don't need a mirror to do so! :D
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Yes! I love it when I'm "on trend" by accident, lol!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lily! And dang it! They really should release these worldwide - they're just so effortless and hydrating, I can't think of anyone who wouldn't like them!
ReplyDeleteRight?! I'm all about that no mirror life! ;) Lovely Mocha would be fantastic on you! They're all so hydrating; they're awesome for dry winter lips! Mucho love and twists n' shouts! :D
ReplyDeleteOh no, Agata! Sounds like something was amiss there! :/ I have 2 and neither one has a scent!
ReplyDeleteOh fun! I love that you're able to pick up US drugstore goodies when you visit California! You'll have to get a second one on your next sojourn! I love the moisture factor!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kiki! Me too! Love L'Oreal. I've been crazy for their Miss Manga mascara now for months!
ReplyDeleteYes, Emma! Good call - these are like a lipstick and gloss combined! SO comfortable to wear. LOL - "or perhaps before that"! I love it! :D
ReplyDeleteLoving this color! I think I may have to pick it up. I like wearing a MLBB better color to work, I find it not appropriate to wear bolder colors to my job. LOL!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou would lurve this! I honestly can't think of anyone it wouldn't flatter, and you're right, it's the perfect office-friendly type of color!
ReplyDeleteI kept passing on these because I always assumed theyd be super sheer. OMG I LOVE THIS shade! This might be the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak...or my "refraining from buying any new makeup" stance lol. Thanks for the review and it looks so beautiful on you Kristen!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dee! LOL about the straw that broke the camel's back! I have two of these are they're REALLY nice! Lovely Mocha is just perfection in twist-up pencil formula! The color would look great on you!
