Givenchy. Even the pronunciation makes me think "luxe". Zshee-von-shay! Can you feel the French-ness? Oh mon dieu! J'aime ce rouge à lèvres! I'd hoped to discover my next lipstick love from Givenchy's copious options, and after swatching the happiest cool pink of the bunch, I was in heavy like. I hoped it would turn to love after I'd had the chance to test it. Spoiler alert: it has!

Givenchy Paradise Pink: 3 swipes, 1 swipe (on NW20 skin with flash) |
Paradise Pink is one of twenty three color options in Givenchy's Satin lipstick line carried at Sephora. The finish does not remind me of MAC's satin finish lipsticks; Givenchy's feels feather-light, almost like a gel that is silky smooth and lasts about 3 hours on me. This lipstick doesn't leave my lips feeling hurt and confused at the end of the day, either. You guys know by now how much I love a non-drying lipstick!

Givenchy Paradise Pink |
Givenchy is a luxury brand that knows how to kick up the special with their packaging! You open the lipstick by pulling on the ribbon loop and a metal tube inscribed with their insignia slides out to reveal your lippie. For me, it's the thoughtful little touches like these that I love, and that I also think Tim Gunn would really appreciate. He would never need to remind the people at Givenchy to "use the accessory wall thoughtfully"; they've got it down!
My Rating: A+

In other news...oh HAAAII guys!
I'm sorry I've been so absent lately, but both Jason and I have been sick (oy on seasonal allergies!) and we're moving in 2 weeks. Tonight Jason packed the kitchen and I worked on the spare room while we listened to some Doobie Brothers, Metallica, and Pink! I plan to attempt to catch up on blog reading this weekend. I still love you guys, though! BFF power! I've barely even been Instagramming, which y'all know I have a slight addiction to. I checked my feed a little while ago and saw people posting their RiRi loves MAC Fall 2013 collection goodies and was like OH HAYELL NO! I did NOT miss that launch!??! Luckily, I haven't! It's in US/Canadian MAC stores now and online on 9/30! So mark your calendars if you're in the Northwestern hemisphere and you've been jonesing for that collection! How was your week?! T.G.I.F.! Hugs to you all!

It looks amazing on you! I love the packaging & how it's not drying. Your description makes me think of Too Faced's La Creme, but I'm sure this is probably a lot better! Someday, I will indulge... haha! & I hope you feel better soon, Kristen! :)
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you so much, Lisa T.! :) I think I am finally in the allergy clear (fingers crossed)! I would compare this formula most with Maybelline's Color Whispers; a really comfortable non-sticky gel, but with more color pigmentation. You would DIG it! I've had better luck finding stuff I love at Sephora; it just seems like my local drugstores never have any of the cool LE releases out! One just put out a display for something that has been out for 3 months! And they just - as in a few days ago, got the medicated Baby Lips! It's like, come on people! We want the LE goodies!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh dear, hope you're feeling much better now. And ROFL at "Can you feel the French-ness" HAHAHAHA! I was actually mesmerized by your eyes instead of the pink (sorry Givenchy). What a unique eye colour you have! Gorgeous :-)
ReplyDeleteHey Kristen, Paradise Pink looks GREAT ON YA! I personally prefer Le Rouge to Rouge Interdit, most probably because Le Rouge has a lighter scent, but this shade is pretty much made for you!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the move, girl <3
This is such a great shade on you! Is it weird that I think it complements your eyes?? Glad you're feeling better and happy moving! We moved in a month ago and are finally starting to feel settled...even if there are still boxes all over the office :)
ReplyDeleteOh Paradise Pink! It's so very lovely on you! This formula is really a beauty, like buttah!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this shade on you! The whole look is so fresh and pretty!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I feel you on the allergies - I've been dying the past couple of weeks! In better news - this lipstick looks amazeballs on you! And a post with Tim Gunn is always a winner in my book lol :)
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm sorry you've been suffering with allergies, too! It seems like just when you think you're in the clear, they swoop back in and you're sick again! LOL - loving you for using amazeballs! Thank you! I love Tim Gunn! I so wish he was in my family. Thanksgiving dinners would be awesome with him there, lol!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Justine! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Taylor! Buttah is right! It's sooo smooooothe!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Alison! I never noticed before but it does make my eyes more noticeable! I'm glad you guys are starting to feel settled from your move and I hope you can get those last boxes done soon! We had no plans to move at all, so this came as a total surprise. We wanted to renew our lease and stay here another 1-2 years until we start house-hunting, but the apts were bought by a new management group that is renovating them and asking for a near $300/month rent increase! Um...no. Luckily we are so excited about the new place we're moving!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sunny! I haven't tried a Le Rouge...YET! If it's as nice as the Rouge Interdit, I'll definitely be adding some to my wish list! :) And thank you for the good luck wishes on the move! I want to take one more relaxing bath in my bathroom before I dismantle it and pack everything! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Thank you, doll! You are the sweetest! :*
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melissa! :) It is such a nice creamy formula!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Quinn! <3 You are a sweetie!
