| NARS Sheer Lipstick in Cruising |
NARS Sheers are an easy way to dip your toe into the pool of lipsticks if you're not sure about full-tilt rocking a certain color, or if you're just a gal who really likes lip balms and you're not used to wearing full coverage lipstick. I think of NARS Sheers as the training bras of lipsticks! ☺
Personally, I am a lip balm girl. I'm so used to wearing clear balm that sometimes I feel a little wacky wearing actual color. Both Cruising and Love Devotion are great for me because they can be built up if I want more opaque color, but a swipe or two yields sheer color with lots of shine. I love that NARS Sheers are so versatile and can go from sheer to opaque with a few additional layers of lipstick.
When I first saw this color in the tube, I was dubious. I didn't realize it was part of the Sheer collection and feared it might look like one of those crazy whitened pink lipsticks from the 60's. I was happy when I swatched it and saw how pretty and neutral it was. Depending on your skin tone and lip pigmentation, this could work as a nice "nude" shade for some people.
Cruising feels fabulous on; it's silky smooth and very lightweight. The texture reminds me a little of Nivea's A Kiss of Moisture balm. Cruising lasts about 3 hours on me, which is good for a sheer product and in line with the wear time of a regular lip balm.
