I've had these Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stains for a few weeks and thought I'd share my thoughts! I love the boxy-yet-sleek, high lacquer packaging. They do attract fingerprints and can get scratched up easily if you toss them into a bag, but that's not the end of the world.
The pigmentation is quite strong! One pull from the tube provides just the right amount of product for full coverage. The fuzzy paddle applicator is perfection.
The only point of contention is that these do not leave much of a stain. I'm completely fine with that, but the word "Stain" is in the product title, after all, so I thought I'd mention it. I find these fade evenly. I would recommend wiping off your lips prior to reapplying, as the product will go on a lot smoother. I get about 2.5-3 hours of wear from these.
Overall, the Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stains are a great addition to the lip hybrid game, and are definitely more pigmented than their ritzier counterparts!

Shanghai SIZZLE haha! Yeah I like these too! I think they're great drugstore lippies and I like them better than the Dior Fluid things.
ReplyDeleteI love these on my cheeks too, since i have super dry skin. love the packaging.
ReplyDeleteNaturally, my favorite is Cannes Coral (big surprise haha)! I'm glad to hear they don't smell like anything, because smell is often a deal-breaker for me. Gotta check these out when I have the chance!
ReplyDeleteTHAT SHANGHAI SIZZLE is sizzlin' for you. DAyuMMMM. I love the look of these. I find it odd that they don't "stain"... Like you say, it's in the name! It's good to know there is another option for those who can't get the "ritzier" (good word choice!) cousin!
ReplyDeleteMuch Love!!

I was curious how these compared to the Maybelline Elixirs so thanks to your review, Kristen! No staining effect but are called Moisture "Stain" - lol! Very well!
ReplyDeleteThey look very wet and glossy on your lips which I really like! How long do you say the glossiness lasts?
Shanghai Sizzle is seriously hot! What a gorgeous shade! I love how juicy it is, too. I love the Maybelline Elixirs, so I guess these would suit, but lol, I think I like the packaging for the Maybelline ones better. T_T
ReplyDeleteThese are really interesting. I decided not to go to the press event, and then later ended up grabbing a couple during sales out of curiosity. Still trying to make up my mind about these. The colours you picked are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSince I'm not a fan of "staining" lip products, I totally avoided these when they first came out. Doesn't sound like these are much of a staining product, though. Great review, these colors look great on you!
ReplyDeleteLove all these colours on you! Too bad we're not getting these here. I wonder why...
ReplyDeleteYes, that was my feeling too. They're great! But they're not exactly stains. Also, I have the first two but not Cannes Coral. And that makes me sad because damn, what a cute color!
ReplyDeleteI know! Isn't that a great name?! I love when names are fun like that. MUCH better than a stranger asking what lip color you're wearing and having to sheepishly reply "Orgasm"! (>__<)
ReplyDeleteOoh now there's an idea! I feel like you're excellent at coming up with alternative uses for stuff n' thangs, Elle!
ReplyDeleteNATURALLY! I thought of you and Melissa, the coral lip lovers of the bunch, as soon as I saw that one! Agreed on scent being a deal-breaker, especially in lip products!
ReplyDeleteHello dolly! Thank you! Shanghai Sizzle is my fave! I am always a big fan when the budget-friendly option outperforms the ritzy cousin! Clapper hands and banana helicopters! ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL! I know! I wish they'd just called these Moisture Rockers, or something of that sort, and left the stain out. These are exactly like Maybelline Color Elixirs. The glossiness lasts about 3 hours, which is pretty good for any glossy product. :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Thanks, Larie! That one is my favorite, too! And yes, if you already love the Color Elixirs, then you can probably skip these. I like both products, but agree the Maybelline packaging is really cool and unique!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz! I foresee Shanghai Sizzle getting a lot of love during the holiday season fo sho. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on these once you've made up your mind!
ReplyDeleteRight?! It's so crazy that they don't stain but it's right there in the name?! Definitely give one of these a shot! And thank you for the compliments, boo! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lily! I'm sad you're not getting them there! Do y'all have the Maybelline Color Elixirs?
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! And girl, Cannes Coral was made for you! I thought of you and Sunny as soon as I saw it! :)
ReplyDeleteCannes Crush looks amazing! I thought I didn't need to look at those...darn you!
ReplyDeleteWow these worked out better for you than they did for me ( or my sis). THe texture was SO off on the colours that we bought. I think she got Barcelona and something else and I got a lighter colour. My light colour especially was sooo streaky and just felt like..goop on my lips. Did not look *anything* like your swatches for sure. Im lovin Shanghai Sizzle on you!
ReplyDeleteThese look so pretty on you!! My faves are Cannes Coral and Shanghai Sizzle :).
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carolyn! :) shanghai Sizzle is a favorite for me, too! Love the bold red!
ReplyDeleteOh boo! Sorry these didn't work out well for you guys. Goop is not what anyone wants to feel on their lips!
ReplyDeleteLOL, Gaelle! Cannes Crush would be dazzling on you, girl!
